A 16-year-old star from Eastern Europe is quietly making a name for himself as one of the most promising young talents in men’s tennis.
Predicting the future achievements of young players can be a foolish endeavour. Some, like Bernard Tomic, fail to match expectations.
Others, such as Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, exceed any estimations of their ability.
One potential future star is already making a name for himself after winning consecutive Grand Slam Boys Singles titles.
This player, just 16 years old, has been developing his seemingly unlimited talent at the Rafa Nadal Academy, and could be competing in the biggest ATP tournaments very soon.

Meet Ivan Ivanov
Bulgarian 16-year-old Ivan Ivanov could be the next big thing on the ATP Tour.
The young star has followed up his Wimbledon Boys Singles title by capturing another junior Grand Slam title: this time at the US Open.
Ivanov, a product of the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, Spain, defeated compatriot Alexander Vasilev 7-5 6-3 to lift the US Open Boys Singles title on Saturday.
Despite his young age, the Bulgarian star is the ITF junior world number one, winning 45 of his 53 matches on the junior tour.

Ivanov has emulated another Bulgarian star: Grigor Dimitrov. The 2017 ATP Finals champion won the Wimbledon and US Open Boys Singles titles in 2008.
Ivanov will now look to win three consecutive Grand Slam Boys Singles titles when he competes at the 2026 Australian Open. Gael Monfils achieved this feat in 2004, when he won junior singles titles at the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon.
Rafael Nadal congratulates Ivanov
Ivanov, who has trained at the Rafa Nadal Academy since 2020, was congratulated on his victory by the Spanish 22-time Grand Slam winner.
On X [Twitter], Nadal said: “Congratulations Ivan on winning Wimbledon and US Open Junior [titles]!
“Congrats also to all the Rafa Nadal Academy team!”
Remarkably, of the 25 sets he has played across the Wimbledon and US Open junior tournaments this year, Ivanov has only lost one: to Germany’s Max Schönhaus in the US Open Boys Singles quarter-finals.
