With just one Grand Slam left to play this year, it’s time to check up on the ATP and WTA Finals qualification races.
Each year, the eight best players in men’s and women’s tennis qualify for the year-end championships.
Predict the ATP year-end top five!
Will Jannik Sinner still be on top?
In 2025, Jannik Sinner won the ATP Finals, while Elena Rybakina won the WTA Finals.
Both players look set to qualify again this year, but who will join them in Turin and Indian Wells?
Mirra Andreeva and Flavio Cobolli could make year-end finals debuts with Iga Swiatek in danger of missing out
Russia’s Mirra Andreeva leads the ‘WTA Race’ currently, and is on course to make her WTA Finals debut.
The 19-year-old narrowly missed out on a singles qualification spot a year ago and chose not to compete when offered the chance to do so as an alternate.
This year, she should have no issue qualifying for the event, and could even do so as the number-one seed.
The world number one, Aryna Sabalenka, and the defending champion, Rybakina, sit behind her in second and third, ahead of Karolina Muchova, Elina Svitolina, Jessica Pegula, and Linda Noskova.
Two-time Grand Slam champion and 2024 WTA Finals winner, Coco Gauff, currently occupies the final qualification spot.
Live WTA Race
| Rank | Name | Country | Points |
| 1 | Mirra Andreeva | Russia | 4,999 |
| 2 | Aryna Sabalenka | Belarus | 4,945 |
| 3 | Elena Rybakina | Kazakhstan | 4,627 |
| 4 | Karolina Muchova | Czechia | 4,270 |
| 5 | Elina Svitolina | Ukraine | 4,116 |
| 6 | Jessica Pegula | USA | 3,950 |
| 7 | Linda Noskova | Czechia | 3,674 |
| 8 | Coco Gauff | USA | 3,484 |
| 9 | Marta Kostyuk | Ukraine | 3,275 |
| 10 | Victoria Mboko | Canada | 2,393 |
| 11 | Sorana Cirstea | Romania | 2,045 |
| 12 | Iga Swiatek | Poland | 1,954 |
| 13 | Iva Jovic | USA | 1,862 |
| 14 | Belinda Bencic | Switzerland | 1,852 |
| 15 | Diana Shnaider | Russia | 1,685 |
Marta Kostyuk is still within touching distance, 209 points behind, but the rest have some real catching up to do.
Former WTA Finals winner and six-time Grand Slam champion, Iga Swiatek, is included in that.
The Pole is over 1,500 points off the top eight, and may now need to win the US Open or risk missing the WTA Finals for the first time in six years.
Several other big names look in danger of missing out, too.
Madison Keys, Amanda Anisimova, and Jasmine Paolini all qualified last year, but look unlikely to do so in 2026, and four-time major winner Naomi Osaka is also unlikely to make the trip to California in November.
On the men’s side, two players have already booked their tickets to Turin.
Sinner and Alexander Zverev have both qualified for the 2026 ATP Finals.
Live ATP Race
| Rank | Name | Country | Points |
| 1 | Jannik Sinner | Italy | 7,950 |
| 2 | Alexander Zverev | Germany | 6,540 |
| 3 | Carlos Alcaraz | Spain | 3,650 |
| 4 | Flavio Cobolli | Italy | 3,020 |
| 5 | Daniil Medvedev | Russia | 2,520 |
| 6 | Novak Djokovic | Serbia | 2,310 |
| 7 | Felix Auger-Aliassime | Canada | 2,190 |
| 8 | Alex de Minaur | Australia | 2,070 |
| 9 | Ben Shelton | USA | 2,030 |
| 10 | Arthur Fils | France | 1,940 |
| 11 | Tommy Paul | USA | 1,935 |
| 12 | Jakub Mensik | Czechia | 1,905 |
| 13 | Frances Tiafoe | USA | 1,830 |
| 14 | Francisco Cerundolo | Argentina | 1,760 |
| 15 | Casper Ruud | Norway | 1,725 |
Carlos Alcaraz is likely to join them when he returns from injury and Flavio Cobolli looks well-positioned to qualify for his home tournament as well.
Behind them, it’s anybody’s guess who will qualify for the event.
The next 15 players in the ‘Live ATP Race’ are separated by fewer than 1,000 ranking points.
If any of those players win a Masters 1000 event between now and the end of the year or make a deep run at the US Open, they would likely jump into the top eight.
It is also important to note that whoever finishes ninth in the ‘Live ATP Race’ may qualify, assuming Novak Djokovic is above them.
Djokovic has skipped the last two editions of the ATP Finals, despite qualifying, allowing the ninth-place finisher to compete in Turin.

As it stands, that would benefit Ben Shelton, but it has previously allowed Lorenzo Musetti (2025) and Alex de Minaur (2024) to qualify.
Unfortunately for Musetti, he will need more than a fortunate Djokovic withdrawal to qualify this year.
The Italian sits 35th in the ‘Live ATP Race’, with just 885 points to his name.
Former champion Stefanos Tsitsipas (54th) is also unlikely to qualify, as he continues to struggle on tour.
