Tennishead readers predict if Elena Rybakina or Aryna Sabalenka will win the Miami Open

Tennishead readers believe Elena Rybakina will win the 2026 Miami Open

At the time of writing, Tennishead readers have selected Elena Rybakina as their 2026 Miami Open Women’s Singles champion.

The two-time Grand Slam champion has garnered over 28 per cent of the vote, while Aryna Sabalenka attained a little over 22 per cent.

Remarkably, Alexandra Eala – world number 29 and 2025 Miami Open semi-finalist – is Tennishead readers’ second favourite to win the Miami title.

Eala, who has become one of the most well-supported players on the WTA Tour, garnered almost 25 per cent of the vote.

Iga Świątek finished fourth favourite with over six per cent of the vote, while Coco Gauff swept up just under six per cent of the vote.

Tennishead readers have also given Jessica Pegula a 4.65 per cent chance of winning the Floridian event, while 6.92 per cent of readers believe someone else will win the title.

The first woman to win the Miami Open

Martina Navratilova, an 18-time Grand Slam champion, became the first Miami Open Women’s Singles champion in 1985.

The Czech-American defeated Molly Van Nostrand, Robin White, Catherine Suire, Catarina Lindqvist, Bettina Bunge and Carling Bassett to reach the final in Florida.

In the final, Navratilova defeated compatriot Chris Evert 6-2, 6-4.
