Mirra Andreeva has qualified for her first Grand Slam final.
The Russian youngster proved too strong for Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk, winning 6-1, 6-3 on Thursday afternoon.
Andreeva, 19, ended Kostyuk’s 17-match win streak on clay courts – a streak that dated back to the start of April.

It was an incredibly impressive performance by the youngster, who has now emulated Conchita Martinez’s best performance at Roland Garros.
Andreeva has also made tennis history by reaching the final in Paris.
Mirra Andreeva is the first player born in 2007 to reach a Grand Slam final
As reported by OptaAce, including males, Mirra Andreeva is the first player born since 2005 to reach a Major final.
Remarkably, no player born in 2005 or 2006 has reached a Grand Slam final.

Following her comprehensive victory over Kostyuk, Andreeva will play either Diana Shnaider or Maja Chwalinska in the Roland Garros final.
Andreeva leads her head-to-head record against Shnaider 2-0, last defeating her compatriot at the 2026 Adelaide International.
Andreeva has never played Maja Chwalinska – the world number 114 – on the professional circuit.

Will the 19-year-old starlet cross the threshold and become the WTA’s newest Grand Slam champion?
Mirra Andreeva emulates her coach’s achievement
By reaching the final in Paris, Andreeva has matched the best Roland Garros result of her coach, Conchita Martinez.
Martinez, the 1994 Wimbledon champion, qualified for the Roland Garros final at the 2000 event.
In the final, she was defeated 6-2, 7-5 by French player Mary Pierce.

Pierce, the former world number three, remains the last French player to win a male or female Roland Garros singles title.
Martinez’s student has emulated her feat 26 years later.
“I just told myself that no matter what happens, I’m just gonna fight, give my best,” Andreeva said after defeating Kostyuk.
“If she ends up winning, she’s gonna have to really work for it. With this mindset, I ended up winning.”
Andreeva will hope to adopt a similar mindset when she competes in the Roland Garros final on Saturday.
