Votes have been cast and tennis fans have determined whether Aryna Sabalenka or Elena Rybakina will win more major titles.

Rybakina won her second Grand Slam title after defeating Sabalenka in the Australian Open final, following on from her triumph at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships.

Is Rybakina the best player on the WTA Tour right now?

Tennis fans believe Aryna Sabalenka will win more Grand Slams than Elena Rybakina

A total of 1,020 votes have been cast across a five-day period since the Australian Open final, and Aryna Sabalenka has come out on top.

Sabalenka has secured just over 55 per cent of the vote, leaving Rybakina with just under 45 per cent.

It is easy to understand why readers have chosen Aryna Sabalenka. The Belarusian is the world number one; a player who has made eight Grand Slam finals during her career so far and looks capable of reaching major finals on hard, clay or grass courts.

In comparison, Rybakina has made three Grand Slam finals and has failed to reach the last four at the French Open and US Open.

In fact, Rybakina has failed to make it past the fourth round in New York.

However, with 45 per cent of the vote, it appears many tennis fans have faith in Rybakina eventually usurping Sabalenka’s Grand Slam total.

The Kazakhstani player has struggled for consistency after winning her first major in 2022. However, following a strong end to the 2025 season and a major-winning start to 2026, Rybakina seems to have found her rhythm.

In a TalkingPoints comment section, one tennis fan heaped praise on Rybakina, highlighting the Kazakh’s ability to upset the odds.

Sabalenka currently leads Rybakina by eight victories to seven across their seven-year rivalry, which first began at the 2019 Wuhan Open.

Sabalenka defeated Rybakina in that first match, before later defeating the Kazakh star three more times consecutively at the Abu Dhabi Open, Wimbledon and the Australian Open.

Rybakina finally defeated Sabalenka at the 2023 Indian Wells Open, before again beating the Belarusian in Beijing.
