Fifth seed Dementieva recorded a 6-3 6-2 victory to clinch her 13th WTA Tour title.

Meanwhile, the men’s final on Saturday will be between Richard Gasquet and Marcos Baghdatis.

Frenchman Gasquet will contest his first ATP World Tour final in 18 months after a 6-4 7-5 win over countryman Julien Benneteau.

“I’m really happy because I won,” he said. “It wasn’t a great match, not an incredible level.

“I was a little bit tired in the second set but I tried to play and I was a little bit lucky. The really important points, I played better than him.”

Baghdatis, who became a hero Down Under with his run to the Australian Open final in 2006, edged out American Mardy Fish 6-4 6-7 (7/9) 7-6 (7/5) in an epic semi-final.
