Stefanos Tsitsipas is no longer working with his father.

The Greek star re-hired his father, Apostolos, as his coach following an acrimonious split from Goran Ivanisevic in July 2025.

Stefanos began working with his father shortly after parting ways with Ivanisevic.

However, the pair’s partnership has now come to an end, as reported by Greek outlet SDNA.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is now working with Thomas Perrin after splitting with his father

“I’m now working with Thomas Perrin, who has been in the [Mouratoglou] Academy’s High Performance program for many years and has also worked with other athletes,” Tsitsipas told SDNA [translated from Greek].

“Patrick Mouratoglou will also supervise things, and whenever he can, he’ll be at some tournaments. We don’t know exactly when, because his schedule is very full.

“So Thomas will be my coach over the next few days and for the coming weeks. The two of them will work together. It’s a solution until the end of the year.

“However, there’s a possibility that we’ll continue beyond the end of the season.

“It doesn’t mean we’ll stop working with Patrick and Thomas, but at the moment I’m committed until the end of the year, with the option of continuing after that.”

Tsitsipas discussed the possibility of reuniting with his father in the future.

“I don’t think I’ll go back to that anymore [working with father],” he said. “It’s all very sensitive.

“It’s difficult because we spent so many years together on the tour, but speaking about it now, I believe we won’t work together again in the future.

“I now want to start making my own decisions and deciding for myself. I believe my father has a lot to offer my other siblings and young up-and-coming players.

“That’s where he should focus. I have other things in mind that I don’t think align with the way we’ve been working together lately.”

Tsitsipas went on to state that his decision ‘wouldn’t be easy for any parent to accept,’ adding that his father has given him ‘everything he possibly could.’

Tsitsipas has made the decision to switch coaches on the eve of the Wimbledon Championships.

The Greek star struggled at last year’s event as he was suffering from debilitating back pain.

This pain inhibited his performance, contributing to his first-round loss against Frenchman Valentin Royer.

Tsitsipas will play another French player in the first round of this year’s event: Hugo Gaston.

If Tsitsipas advances to the second round in south-west London, he will play either Novak Djokovic or Yibing Wu.

What did Stefanos Tsitsipas say when he re-hired his father in 2025?

The summer of 2025 was certainly turbulent for Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Goran Ivanisevic, the Greek star’s coach at the time, said he had ‘never seen such a poorly prepared player’ after Tsitsipas’ first-round loss at Wimbledon.

This statement prompted backlash from the likes of Nick Kyrgios, with Tsitsipas later stating that he felt he had been ‘kicked whilst he was down.’

Tsitsipas reunited with his father at the end of July 2025, following his split from Ivanisevic.

“Some journeys have a way of circling back to where they began,” Tsitsipas said on social media after losing in the Canadian Open second round.

“After some time apart, I’ve reunited with the person who first believed in me – my father.

“Sometimes, coming home is the boldest step forward.”
