Matteo Berrettini Wimbledon 2019

Social Slice: Queens success could lead to Wimbledon glory; Tsitsipas returns

On Social Slice today, we look at why success at Queens could translate to Wimbledon glory and Stefanos Tsitsipas returns to the grass courts.

Firstly, Matteo Berrettini might just have a shot at this year’s Wimbledon if the stat below is anything to go by.

According to @TennisMyLife68, the Queens winner has won Wimbledon the same year on nine occasions, reaching the final 15 times.

The Italian will be hoping he can be the next name on this list.

Following the heartbreak of his French Open final defeat to Novak Djokovic, the Greek has returned on the grass courts ahead of Wimbledon.

Despite possessing a game which should suit the grass courts, the 22-year-old is yet to make it past the fourth round back in 2018.

Along with Alexander Zverev and Matteo Berrettini, he certainly looks to be of the biggest threats to Novak Djokovic.

Billie Jean King and John McEnroe were back on the courts on Sunday evening and what a duo they are with 19 Grand Slams between them!

As stated by the @ATPTour, ‘you love to see it’.

There have been many ridiculous shots over the years, but a combination of brilliance and fortune from Adrian Mannarino could put this tweener near the top of the list.

Somehow the Frenchman’s shot gets over the net… just watch this!
