Six Kings Slam winner to pocket record-breaking prize money

The Six Kings Slam is taking place this week as part of ‘Riyadh Season’, with players able to claim almost double what they would earn for winning Wimbledon!Players competing at the exhibition tournament are Novak Djokovic,
Rafael Nadal, Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz,
Daniil Medvedev and Holger Rune.
The winner will be crowned on Saturday, who will claim the largest sum in tennis history of $6million (£4.5million). To put this into some context, the US Open that took place just last month had also announced record-breaking prize money, with $3.6million going to champions Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka. While Wimbledon offered £2.7million to their champions earlier this year, just over half of what will be given to the Six Kings Slam winner. All players will also receive $1.5 million (£1.12m) just for competing this week, which is more than what the runners-up at both the Australian Open and Roland Garros were awarded this year. Action at the Six Kings Slam gets underway later today, coming to a conclusion with the grand final on Saturday.Inside the baseline…It really is an absurd amount of money on offer at this exhibition event, which only heightens any claims of ‘sports washing’. There is only one reason that all six players are competing at the ‘Six Kings Slam’ this week and that is due to the money on offer, given that they only have to show up to earn more than they would for winning six matches at two of the Grand Slams this year.

How does the ‘Six Kings Slam’ work?

With Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal being labelled as the top two seeds, they both receive byes to the semi-finals and can only meet in either the final or third placed match. Here is the schedule for the coming week in the Saudi capital:
