Mayar Sherif is one of the most in-form players on the WTA Tour right now.
Sherif has a career-high ranking of world number 31, which she achieved in 2023, making her the highest-ranked player from Egypt in tennis history.
The 30-year-old has been far from this ranking at points this year, with Sherif outside the top 100 after she lost in the first round of Wimbledon qualifying.

Sherif began this at the WTA 125 tournament in Contrexeville, where she dropped just one set en route to her 10th title at this level.
The Egyptian then competed at the higher level WTA 250 tournament in Iasi, Romania, where Sherif reached her second successive final.
Sherif had not won a main WTA Tour level title since 2022, but she won the Iasi Open title after Paula Badosa retired in the second set.
Hoping to continue her momentum, Sherif is now competing at the Hamburg Open, where she has won both of her opening two matches to reach the quarter-finals on a 12-match winning streak.
