Has Stefanos Tsitsipas finally turned a corner?
The Greek star, a former world number three, has endured a tough year on the ATP Tour, battling through debilitating injuries and a coaching circus.
However, Tsitsipas appears to have found some stability in recent weeks and has performed at an excellent level in Madrid.

Tsitsipas has already beaten Patrick Kypson, Alexander Bublik and Daniel Merida in the Spanish capital, and he will play Casper Ruud for a spot in the quarter-finals.
Steve Johnson, John Isner and Sam Querrey have weighed in on Tsitsipas’ recent form, assessing whether the 27-year-old is back to his best.
Sam Querrey believes Stefanos Tsitsipas will be ranked around the top 25 following Roland Garros
Steve Johnson, the former world number 21, began the ‘Nothing Major Show‘ discussion by remarking on Tsitsipas’ success on the Tour and his ‘unbelievable talent.’

“The guy has won Monte Carlo three times,” Johnson said of Tsitsipas.
“The guy is unbelievably talented. It’s a joke!
“But he switches rackets every week, he has got four different rackets in the bag. It’s like… it’s not the racket, you have just got to figure out some other things.”
John Isner, a former champion in Miami, built upon Johnson’s initial summary, arguing that the Greek star is heading in the right direction.
Which of these players have concerned you the most in Madrid?
Coco Gauff, Alex de Minaur, Iga Swiatek and Ben Shelton all suffered early exits in Spain 😬
“When he is in full swing on the court, he is taking time away, running around that backhand, ripping that huge forehand,” the American said.
“When he gets to the net he volleys well. He seems to be getting back to that form.”
Sam Querrey went a step further, predicting that Tsitsipas will rise back up the ATP rankings over the next two months.
“I think he’s back,” the former Wimbledon semi-finalist [pictured below] concluded.

“I don’t think he beats Casper [Ruud], because Casper has looked pretty good.
“But I think he is going to win matches in Rome and then win matches in Roland Garros and we are going to blink and he is going to be ranked about 25.”
If Tsitsipas defeats Casper Ruud on Tuesday, he will play Francisco Cerundolo or Alexander Blockx in the Madrid Open quarter-finals.
Tsitsipas is currently ranked 80th on the ATP Tour. However, he is set to rise five places in the rankings after reaching the round of 16 in Madrid.

Last year, the Greek star reached the round of 32, earning himself 50 ranking points.
He then competed in Roland Garros, falling in the second round to Matteo Gigante. As a result, Tsitsipas earned a further 50 ranking points.
Therefore, Tsitsipas has the opportunity to significantly boost his ranking ahead of the grass-court season.
