Sam Querrey predicts the ATP top 10 at the end of 2026 with one big omission

Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz look set to finish 2026 as the world number one and two.

But who will make up the rest of the ATP top 10?

Could a combination of Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Joao Fonseca, and Alex de Minaur beat Jannik Sinner?

He's just too good!

During the latest episode of ‘Nothing Major‘, Sam Querrey, John Isner, and Steve Johnson made their picks.

Sam Querrey doesn’t think Novak Djokovic will finish 2026 in the top 10

Querrey was the first to share his list, but left out the 24-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic.

“Wait, so no Novak [Djokovic]?” asked Johnson.

“No Novak in my top 10, there’s a chance he plays Roland Garros, loses early…” Querrey replied.

“Semis Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open, he’s going to finish in the top 10,” said Johnson.

“Dude, that’s not happening!” Querrey responded.

“No [Taylor] Fritz?” asked Johnson.

“He’s been injured! He hasn’t played. You’re coming at me like my list is nuts. Give us your list,” said Querrey.

Djokovic currently sits fourth in the world rankings, with Taylor Fritz seventh.

Querrey’s decision to omit them from the top 10 makes more sense when looking at the ‘Live ATP Race’, though, with Djokovic in seventh and Fritz in 27th.

Johnson was next, backing Djokovic to finish 2026 as world number five.

Perhaps the most interesting prediction made by the trio was the inclusion of Arthur Fils in the top 10.

The Frenchman has a career-high ranking of 14th and has never been past the fourth round of a Grand Slam tournament.

But Querrey and Johnson both predicted him to finish 2026 as the world number four, while Isner thinks he will be the year-end number six.

So the question is, are they overrating Fils, or is he really that good?

How good has Arthur Fils been so far in 2026?

Returning from a long injury lay-off, Fils played his first tournament of the year in February.

He reached the quarter-finals of the Open Occitanie, before losing his opening match in Rotterdam.

Since then, Fils has been one of the most consistent players in men’s tennis.

Those performances have propelled Fils into the ‘Live ATP Race’ top five.

As things stand, Fils will qualify for the ATP Finals in November.

There is plenty of tennis to be played between now and then, though, and Fils will now turn his attention to Roland Garros, his home Grand Slam.

The 2026 French Open begins on Sunday, May 24.
