The Czech player overcame her Chinese opponent 6-4 6-2 to follow up her 2005 triumph and provide some cheer ahead of the US Open in what has been an injury-plagued season.

“In terms of the tennis, today’s match with Peng was my best match. I just tried to concentrate from the very first ball,” she said.
