‘Roger Federer is super smart and Novak Djokovic is incredible – they work very well together,’ says ATP ace


Vasek Pospisil says that ‘super smart’ Roger Federer and ‘incredible’ Novak Djokovic work well together behind the scenes in tennis.

The duo are two thirds of the ‘big three’ tennis rivalry alongside Rafael Nadal and have had some iconic battles on the court.

However, Vasek Pospisil has offered a new insight into their dynamic, by revealing how they interact and contribute on the Players Council, which is chaired by Djokovic.

ā€œIt is a pretty amazing experience,” Pospisil told ATP Tennis Radio podcast about one particular meeting.

“To my left was Novak Djokovic to my right Roger Federer and then Rafael Nadal was right beside himā€.

ā€œThese are three incredible athletes to be involved in the council, with them itā€™s pretty cool and I think the dynamic is interesting because you have three strong individuals, they have strong opinions as we all do in the council.

ā€œWhen you have three guys coming in with the position that they come in, it can be challenging, they work very well together, they are very open-minded.

“Novak Djokovic has been incredible, I have spent most of the time with Novak since the day I joined.

“Roger Federer, when he came in, he brought a different perspective and he is a super-smart guy and very open-minded so itā€™s been a very cool experience.”
