The world number two reached his 18th grand slam final with a 6-2 7-5 7-5 win against Andy Roddick.
Federer, hoping to equal Pete Sampras’ record of 14 grand slam titles on Sunday, said: “It’s just great to be playing here – it’s fun out there. If I can break records, too, then that’s great.”
