The Israeli came through in one hour and 16 minutes against the world number 129 to set up a quarter-final clash with Russia’s Alexandra Panova. The qualifier beat seventh seed Patricia Mayr of Austria 7-5 6-1.

Olga Govortsova of Belarus is also into the last eight as the fourth seed beat Russian Vesna Manasieva 6-2 6-3. Home contender Akgul Amanmuradova also made it through as she beat Russian Ekaterina Bychkova 4-6 7-5 7-6 (7-4).
