Kyrgios is expected to return on grass, where he will play events in Stuttgart and Mallorca before Wimbledon.
The ever-controversial Aussie has now shared how he intends to act on the court when he returns.
Nick Kyrgios promises to be as ‘controversial’ as ever when he returns to tennis
During an Instagram Q&A, one fan asked Kyrgios the following question.
“Are you going to argue with umpires when you play? I love it,” they asked.

“I’m going to be as controversial as ever when I’m back,” he said.

“I feel great and motivated.”

But he hasn’t played since January, as injuries continue to halt his progress.
If Kyrgios is to play three grass-court events as planned, that would be a real step forward.
The 31-year-old has only played a handful of events since 2022, arguably the best season of his professional career…
What happened to Nick Kyrgios after 2022?
Kyrgios reached the Wimbledon final in 2022, where he lost to Novak Djokovic in four sets.
He won the Washington Open shortly after, underlining his impressive form.
Unfortunately for Kyrgios, injuries soon derailed his career resurgence.
Nick Kyrgios’ injuries
- October 2022 – Knee injury
- January 2023 – Ankle injury
- January 2023 – Knee injury (required surgery)
- May 2023 – Foot injury
- June 2023 – Wrist injury (required surgery)
Kyrgios required a full wrist reconstruction, a surgery many believed would end his tennis career.
In a sense, it has, as the Aussie has only played six singles matches since.

However, with Kyrgios feeling ‘great and motivated’, perhaps his wrist is feeling close to 100%.
If it is, who knows what Kyrgios can achieve this year?
