‘Nick Kyrgios is one of the greatest tennis stars after the Big 3’, says Toni Nadal

Toni Nadal has described Nick Kyrgios as ‘one of the greatest tennis stars after the Big 3’ and said the Aussie is ‘the player most followed by younger generations’.

Nadal, uncle and former coach of 20-time major winner Rafael, was speaking at the presentation for the Mallorca Championships – for which he is tournament director.

It has been confirmed that Kyrgios will play at the grass court ATP 250 event – which will be held from June 19th – 26th.

“Nick is a star on the ATP circuit. Undoubtedly, after the ‘Big 3’, he is one of the greatest tennis stars in the world, being the player most followed by the younger generations,” Nadal said.

“He is a great player who, in addition, gives a lot of show on the court. So Nick’s commitment to play in the Mallorca Championships is very important news for us.

“I hope that his presence in the tournament will bring a lot of people to come to Santa Ponça to follow him.”

The Spaniard – now coach of Felix Auger-Aliassime – has previously labelled Kyrgios’ behaviour as “bad for tennis”.
