Nick Kyrgios is gearing up for a return to professional tennis.
The 30-year-old was last seen in action at the Australian Open, where he suffered early exits in the doubles and mixed doubles events.
He’s since played the exhibition MGM Slam in Las Vegas, but lost his opening match to Alexander Bublik.
What would be a successful season for Nick Kyrgios in 2026?
Kyrgios has, however, now confirmed when and where he will return to the ATP Tour.
Nick Kyrgios plans to return to the ATP Tour on grass
The popular Aussie asked his 4.4 million followers to send him some questions for an Instagram Q&A.
One fan asked the following question.
- “You gonna compete on tour again?”
Kyrgios responded, revealing his plans for the coming months.

“Will be playing the grass and UTS events,” said Kyrgios.
Kyrgios mentioned UTS [Ultimate Tennis Showdown], an exhibition series run by legendary coach Patrick Mouratoglou.
However, most fans will be more interested in his plans to play grass court events on the ATP Tour.
When fit, Kyrgios is one of the best grass-court players around.
In 2022, Kyrgios reached the final of Wimbledon.

Struggling with injuries, Kyrgios has only played one grass-court ATP match since, losing to Yibing Wu in Stuttgart three years ago.
He’s planning a return to the surface this summer, but which events might he play?

If Kyrgios does play on grass, the likelihood is that we will see him make his long-awaited Wimbledon return.
He won’t want to turn up unprepared, though, so he could choose to play a warm-up event.
Since 2019, Kyrgios hasn’t played Queen’s or Eastbourne, instead opting to warm up in Germany or Spain.
The Aussie played the Stuttgart Open in 2022 and 2023, the Halle Open in 2022, and the Mallorca Championships in 2022.
It remains to be seen if Kyrgios will return to Germany in 2026, but it will certainly be something to keep an eye on.
Is Nick Kyrgios still ranked?
Kyrgios has barely played due to injury, but is still ranked inside the top 1,000.
| Rank | Name | Country | Points |
| 749 | Leonardo Rossi | Italy | 41 |
| 750 | Maximilian Marterer | Germany | 40 |
| 751 | Nick Kyrgios | Australia | 40 |
| 752 | Alexis Gautier | France | 40 |
| 753 | Tomas Farjat | Argentina | 40 |
He does, however, only have 40 points to his name.
And those points will drop soon.
Kyrgios reached the second round of the Miami Open a year ago, earning himself 30 points.

He also picked up 10 points from playing Indian Wells in 2025.
When those points drop at the end of the month, Kyrgios will be unranked, with zero points to his name.
But with the grass-court season on the horizon, it might not be too long before we see Kyrgios return to winning ways!
