‘Nick Kyrgios and Roger Federer are my dream doubles partners’ says Coco Gauff

Coco Gauff has admitted that Aussie Nick Kyrgios and Swiss legend Roger Federer are her ‘dream mixed doubles partners.’

In Washington last week, the young American was asked which male player she would like to partner on court with. When the 17-year-old named Kyrgios, the Aussie asked for a mixed doubles partner at Australian Open to which Gauff replied ‘lets make it happen.’

“My agent sent me his tweet, where he asked me about mixed doubles,” Gauff said. “People don’t know this but (Nick) and Roger (Federer) are literally my dream mixed doubles partners. Hopefully we can make it happen.”

Talking about the prospect of a partnership with Kyrgios, the French Open quarter-finalist added:

“We haven’t really talked about it other than on social media. Obviously Australia is far, far away from now. That’s gonna be his home court. The crowds gonna be behind this.”

The world number 24 called Federer the ‘ultimate icon of tennis’ on his 40th birthday earlier this week

“@rogerfederer you are the ultimate icon in tennis: ever since holding a tennis racket as a kid, I’ve been a fan. Happy birthday!” Gauff tweeted.
