The five-year commercial agreement will include the rebranding of the Queen’s Club event – previously the Artois Championships – which runs before Wimbledon.

That will become the AEGON Championships, while the Eastbourne and Edgbaston events which also run in June will also be renamed.

Funds will also be allocated to the LTA’s parks and schools programmes, and to the support of junior players.

LTA chief executive Roger Draper said: “We are delighted that AEGON has joined us as the lead partner of British tennis in what is a very exciting time for the sport.”
