The world No.3 is set to miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery last month to correct a chronic back problem that flared up earlier this year and forced him to miss the French Open in May.

The Dream Cup looks set to be Murray’s first competitive outing after organisers announced he would be headlining the four-man exhibition tournament at Saint Peter’s Bay resort, where he will compete alongside Juan Martin Del Potro, Nicolas Almagro and Richard Gasquet from November 28.

“We are thrilled to have top players like Andy, Juan Martin, Richard and Nicolas come to Barbados and experience this incredible paradise,” event organiser Kodi Lewis said.

“Having this amazing tennis talent compete on the island will be a fantastic experience for the fans and sponsors and we can’t wait to kick off The Dream Cup.”
