Murray and Nadal on course for showdown

Originally published on: 26/02/10 15:25

To date, Murray has lost to the Spaniard on five previous occasions, three of which have been on hard courts; 2008 ATP Masters Series Canada, 2008 ATP Masters Series Madrid and 2007 Australian Open.

The last time the pair met was at last years US Open, in which Murray defeated Nadal 6-2, 7-6, 4-6, 6-4. Both players have arguably carried their fine 2008 form into the 2009 season, which should prove irresistible viewing if Murray overcomes Mario Ancic and Nadal powers past Gael Monfils later today.

So, with that in mind, weve highlighted the statistics from the 2008 US Open, laid out the head to head statistics of the two players and uploaded some damn fine pictures from the pair’s last encounter.
