Mirza out of US Open

The world number 63 will miss the final grand slam tournament of the year with a wrist injury that troubled her at the Olympic Games.

Mirza had surgery on her wrist earlier this year and the recurrence of the problem forced the 21-year-old to confirm her withdrawal from the event at Flushing Meadows, which gets under way on Monday.
