Serena Williams will make her return to professional tennis later this month.
The American superstar, who last played a professional tennis match at the 2022 US Open, is set to make her return to the WTA Tour at the Queen’s Club Championships.
Serena is reportedly set to participate in the women’s doubles event with Canadian Open champion Victoria Mboko.

John McEnroe has been left shocked by Serena’s decision to return, as have many tennis fans across the globe.
Another individual who could not believe the news of Serena’s return was Mirra Andreeva.

“She’s an amazing athlete,” Andreeva said in her post-match press conference after beating Sorana Cirstea in the French Open quarter-finals.
“I honestly didn’t believe until the very last post that when she was coming back,” the Russian went on to admit.
“The advertisement that they made with Nike together. I was, like, ‘Wow, well, this is real then.’
“I wasn’t believing that she would actually come back, but it’s just great to see her coming back.
“Obviously she’s achieved so much already in the sport in her career. I’m just kind of excited to see her playing again.”
Serena’s comeback was confirmed in a press release sent out by the Queen’s Club Championships on Monday.

“Queen’s Club feels like the perfect place to begin this next chapter,” Serena, who hasn’t contested a WTA match since the 2022 US Open, said.
“Grass has given me some of the most meaningful moments of my career, and I’m excited to be back competing on one of the sport’s most iconic stages.”
Williams will be making her debut at the Queen’s Club when she steps onto court next week.
The tournament was a male-only event from 1974 to 2023, meaning Serena had no prior opportunity to compete in the event.
Serena, who is not competing in the singles event, will find out her route to the women’s doubles title when the draw is released later this week.
Who are the defending Queen’s Club champions?
The Queen’s Club Championships women’s events will take place from June 8 to 14 in west London.
The doubles event was last won by Demi Schuurs of the Netherlands and Asia Muhammad of the United States.
Tatjana Maria is the defending women’s singles champion. The German will not defend her 2025 title as she was not granted a wildcard for this year’s event.
The men’s event, taking place from June 15 to 21, was last won by Carlos Alcaraz.
Alcaraz, like Maria, will not defend his title in London as he is still nursing a long-term wrist injury.
