Mirra Andreeva has bounced back from her disappointing Indian Wells campaign with consecutive victories in Miami.

The Russian, still only 18 years old, was seen shouting obscenities as she walked off the court after losing to Katerina Siniakova in California.

Andreeva acknowledged her mistake after the match, and has quickly put the incident behind her.

The two other players to do so are Martina Hingis and Maria Sharapova.

Andreeva has followed in the footsteps of two now-retired stars who also entered the WTA top 10 when they were teenagers.

Hingis won five Grand Slam singles titles and seven major doubles titles before she turned 19 on September 30, 1999.

As for Sharapova, she won the 2004 Wimbledon Ladies Singles title, the WTA Finals, and two WTA 1000 titles before she turned 19.

Returning to Andreeva, she will face fellow youngster Victoria Mboko in the Miami Open fourth round.

Mboko defeated Andreeva in their last match at the 2026 Qatar Open, defeating the Russian 6-3, 3-6, 7-6.
