Karolina Muchova finished as the runner-up in the Wimbledon final this year.

Muchova was beaten by Linda Noskova 6-2, 5-7, 6-3, with the two compatriots battling on Centre Court for two hours and 28 minutes.

This is the second Grand Slam final Muchova has lost, having been beaten by Iga Swiatek in the 2024 Roland Garros final.

After watching the two Czech players from the Royal Box on Centre Court, Martina Navratilova has now sent a message to both players.

Martina Navratilova still hopes Karolina Muchova will win Wimbledon ‘one day’

Navratilova, who was born and raised in the Czech Republic, knows exactly what it takes to win a Grand Slam singles title, having done so 18 times in her career.

This includes a record nine Wimbledon victories, which no singles player, male or female, has matched in history.

Navratilova gave her thoughts on the Wimbledon women’s singles final in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), where she claimed that Noskova was the better of the two players on the day.

Despite this, Navratilova revealed her hope for Muchova to return to Wimbledon and win the title in future years.

She wrote, “What a day for the Czech women!!! A match full of twists and turns and congrats to the winner, Linda Nosková who was better today and here is hoping that Karolína Muchová will win the trophy here one day!!!”

Marion Bartoli sends message to Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova

Navratilova is one of many players, both past and present, to react to Noskova’s win over Muchova in the Wimbledon final.

This includes another former champion in Marion Bartoli, who won her sole Grand Slam title at Wimbledon in 2013.

Bartoli wrote on Instagram, congratulating both players, “Massive congratulations to @lindynoskova on her first WIMBLEDON TITLE and huge congratulations to @karolinamuchova for a fabulous fortnight.
Some moments are simply priceless.”

Both players will now reach career-high rankings, with Muchova climbing up to world number six, while Noskova is just behind her in seventh position.

Muchova will hope to go one further at the US Open, which is statistically her best Grand Slam tournament in terms of win-loss record as a two-time semi-finalist.
