Will Madison Keys defend her Australian Open title?

Madison Keys is certainly capable of defending her Australian Open crown. Doing so, however, is another matter.

The American, who has risen to world number seven this year, will have to fend off the likes of Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka, who won back-to-back titles at the event in 2023 and 2024.

Elena Rybakina will also be a strong contender. The Kazakhstani player, the 2022 Wimbledon Women’s Singles champion, played the best tennis of any player on the WTA Tour at the end of the 2025 campaign, capturing the Ningbo Open and WTA Finals titles.
