Katie Boulter has won a fourth WTA title of her career at the Ostrava Open, defeating Tamara Korpatsch in the final.

Boulter, who will rise to world number 84 on Monday, defeated her German opponent 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 in the Czech city.

After a disappointing start to the year at the Australian Open, Boulter has proven her worth on the Tour once again.

The British star, who fell to 120 in the world ahead of the event, performed superbly throughout the week, defeating Victoria Golubic and Katy Volynets on her way to the final.

After a worrying 2025 season, Boulter made a key change to her coaching team, which appears to have paid off.

Katie Boulter’s decision to hire a new coach has paid off

At the end of last year, Boulter split with longtime coach Biljana Veselinovic, following a dismal 2025 campaign.

On January 16, Katie Boulter revealed her new coaching hire: Michael Joyce.

Katie Boulter’s run to the Ostrava Open title…

Joyce, the former world number 64, has previously worked with Maria Sharapova. Under Joyce’s tutelage, Sharapova won three Grand Slam titles and achieved the world number one ranking.

Joyce, who has also worked with Johanna Konta and Eugenie Bouchard, was the coach of Ashlyn Krueger from 2021 to 2025.

It appears that the hiring of Joyce has paid off for Katie Boulter. It seems Joyce’s influence has had an immediate impact, and Boulter deserves great credit for making such a wise decision.

Of course, Boulter deserves the majority of the credit for her play, rather than her coach. After a disappointing Australian Open campaign, Boulter produced some of the best tennis of her career in Ostrava.

The British star deserves great credit for her performances in the Czech city: her serve was solid and she demonstrated a level of consistency that has been a rarity in recent times.

Alex de Minaur’s two-word message

Alex de Minaur, the world number eight and Boulter’s fiance, posted a short – but sweet – message on his Instagram story following the Brit’s victory in Czechia.

On his Instagram story, de Minaur said: “Title town!”

After winning the title, Boulter sent a message to her new coach while thanking her team for their help.

As for de Minaur, he is now set to compete at the Rotterdam Open. The Australian, the number one seed at the event, is a two-time finalist at the Dutch event.
