Katie Boulter has shifted her attention towards the grass-court season following her exit from Roland Garros.

Boulter, the world number 71, was defeated in the French Open second round by 28th seed Anastasia Potapova.

With the clay-court swing now firmly in the rearview mirror, Boulter can fully focus on preparing for another grass-court campaign.

What is stopping Katie Boulter from staying in the WTA top 20?

“A fantastic player, was already in the top 20, and she has unfortunately – we have talked about it so many times on our podcast – unfortunately, she just has the yips.”

The British star has achieved great success on the surface in the past, winning multiple Tour-level events.

Much of Boulter’s grass-court success has occurred at the Nottingham Open, and Boulter is once again set to compete in the WTA 250 event.

Katie Boulter’s Nottingham Open titles

Boulter first won the title in 2023, defeating compatriot Jodie Burrage 6–3, 6–3 in the championship showpiece.

A year later, Boulter stunned former world number one Karolina Pliskova to claim her second consecutive title at the event.

“This is a little bit of deja-vu, I’m not exactly sure if I’m dreaming or if this just happened,” Boulter said after clinching the title, as reported by the LTA.

“I put a lot of work and a lot of soul into this week and I felt like I’m really reaping the rewards for what I’ve put in during the last few years.

“It’s great for me, I came here to get a couple of matches and obviously you want to start your grass court season getting into the backend of tournaments but I maybe didn’t expect this straight away.

“I’m very happy with today – I never thought it would happen again. I thought it would be one time in Nottingham, but this one is very special to me.”

Last year, Boulter’s Nottingham dominance came to an end when she was defeated by eventual champion McCartney Kessler in the quarter-finals.

McCartney triumphed over Boulter 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 after two hours and nine minutes.
