Juan Carlos Ferrero is set to delve into his split from Carlos Alcaraz in a blockbuster interview on Thursday.
The Spaniard, who had worked with Alcaraz for seven years, has sat down with Spanish journalist Josef Pedrerol to discuss the matter.
Excerpts from the interview have already been released, with Ferrero saying that he wants to have a meeting with Alcaraz.
What do you make of Carlos Alcaraz’s decision to part ways with Juan Carlos Ferrero?
During the interview, Ferrero also built his perfect player, choosing the best shots from tennis history.
During the exchange with Pedrerol, Ferrero identified who he thinks has the best forehand in tennis history.
Juan Carlos Ferrero says Roger Federer has the best forehand in tennis history
There are a number of players to consider when discussing the greatest forehands in history: Rafael Nadal’s whip-like shot, Federer’s graceful stroke and Juan Martin del Potro’s bullet of a forehand.
Ferrero has named Federer’s as the best of them all while speaking to Pedrerol, choosing the Swiss legend’s forehand while building his best-ever player.

The Spaniard also selected another Swiss player as having the best backhand: by choosing Stan Wawrinka.
Ferrero continued, choosing Rafael Nadal’s mentality, Wayne Arthurs’ serve and Novak Djokovic’s return.
Ferrero also offered praise for Carlos Alcaraz’s volleying, claiming the young Spaniard has one of the best net games in tennis history.
He said: “I could tell you Stefan Edberg, but I really like Carlos’s effectiveness. The net work is one of the best in history.”
Ferrero also chose Alcaraz’s footwork, before completing his perfect player by selecting the drop shot of Alcaraz and Gaston Gaudio.

Juan Carlos Ferrero is right about Carlos Alcaraz… but missed one player off his list
Ferrero is correct in identifying Alcaraz as one of the best volleyers in history. The young Spaniard has become a master at controlling court space from the net, utilising fine angles and perfectly timed drop shot to outwit his opponents.
However, while Alcaraz and Edberg are certainly valid selections, he missed Rafael Nadal off the list.
Nadal, a winner of 22 majors, was undoubtedly the best net player of the ‘Big Three’ and perhaps the best volleyer on the singles Tour.
Nadal, who retired from his playing career in 2024, recently paid tribute to Carlos Alcaraz, calling him a legend.
