Jannik Sinner won his sixth consecutive Masters 1000 title in Rome, defeating Casper Ruud in the final.
The Italian hasn’t lost a match at the Masters 1000 level in 226 days, when he retired due to injury against Tallon Griekspoor in Shanghai.
Do you think Jannik Sinner could really win all 9 Masters 1000 events in 2026?
Reacting to Sinner’s latest win, Jessica Pegula shared a prediction about the world number one.
Jessica Pegula backs Jannik Sinner to ‘clean up’ while Carlos Alcaraz is injured
During the latest episode of ‘The Player’s Box Podcast‘, Pegula said the following.
“I don’t know what is going on,” said Pegula.
“I am just like he is going to win, so there’s that!

“It’s just crazy what he is doing right now.”
Pegula’s fellow American, Madison Keys, was also keen to weigh in.
“He has won every single Masters now, and it’s what, six in a row?” she said.

“He is on a 36-match win streak! He has only lost one match all year in Australia [also lost to Jakub Mensik in Doha], and everyone was like ‘I don’t know what is going to happen this year’.”
Pegula continued, predicting what will happen over the coming months.
“I don’t really have words for what he is accomplishing right now,” she said.
“Now that Carlos [Alcaraz] is hurt, he is going to clean up, I think, for a little while.”
Sinner’s biggest rival, Carlos Alcaraz, hasn’t played since injuring his wrist at the Barcelona Open.
With the Spaniard set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, it’s hard to imagine anyone stopping Sinner from sweeping up the trophies.
One player who came close to ‘stopping’ Sinner was Daniil Medvedev.

The Russian pushed Sinner close in Indian Wells and Rome.
Pegula delivered her verdict on the world number one’s struggles against Medvedev.
“He didn’t look great in the semi-final,” she said.
“He threw up on the court. He was winning in the third, but at the beginning of the second, he looked like he was struggling.
Was Jannik Sinner wrong to call a medical time-out?
Daniil Medvedev wasn't happy!
“To that point, I don’t know if he was nervous. If it was anxiety, because I know he really wanted to win Rome.
“That was the only one he hadn’t won. He is Italian and all that.
“Maybe he actually did feel some nerves.”
Sinner wasn’t at his best in the semis, but that didn’t stop him from clinching yet another Masters 1000 title.

In the unlikely, albeit possible scenario that he wins all four, he’ll be tied for fourth with Andy Murray on 14.
Only time will tell what the future holds for Sinner at the remaining four Masters 1000 tournaments of the year, but for now, he will turn his attention to Grand Slam tennis at Roland Garros.
The 2026 French Open begins on Sunday, May 24.
