Jannik Sinner has advanced to the Wimbledon fourth round after surviving a testing match against American Jenson Brooksby.
Sinner, the top seed and overwhelming favourite to retain his Wimbledon title, beat Brooksby 6-3, 6-4, 6-3 on Court One.
The Italian superstar served 13 aces on his way to victory, breaking the Americans’ serve on six occasions.

The 24-year-old’s latest victory has also seen him emulate the achievements of 14-time major winner, Pete Sampras.
Jannik Sinner has reached the second week of Wimbledon for five consecutive years
As per statisticians OptaAce, Jannik Sinner is now the youngest player to reach the second week in five or more consecutive seasons in the Wimbledon Men’s Singles event since Pete Sampras.
Sampras, a seven-time champion at Wimbledon, advanced to the second week for five consecutive years between 1992 and 1996.
The American star won three titles during that period: in 1993, 1994 and 1995.

In fact, Sampras went on to win seven Wimbledon titles in eight years, adding to his collection in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000.
In contrast, Sinner has reached the Wimbledon final just once during his five-year stretch of qualifying for the second week.
That occasion was – of course – last year, when the Italian defeated Carlos Alcaraz to win his first title in south-west London.
During the five-year period, Sinner has also made one quarter-final appearance, and two semi-final appearances.

Jannik Sinner reacts to beating Jenson Brooksby
During Sinner’s post-match press conference, the Italian was asked to compare his level against Brooksby to his first two matches at Wimbledon.
The Italian began the tournament by surviving a five-set battle against Miomir Kecmanovic, before knocking out Nuno Borges in straight sets.
How worried are you about Jannik Sinner’s first round performance?
Yeah, I’m trying to find my way in,” the Italian stated. “Felt better today, which was my main goal. Especially how I ended the match.
“The last game, I was going for it a little bit better. So hopefully this gives me confidence then to start the next match in a positive way.
“But in any case, trying to move better. Return today was a little bit better.
“Yeah, so all things considered, was a small step forward. I still have some gap to gain. Hopefully I can do that from the next match.”
