Jannik Sinner had a more straightforward second round match at Wimbledon after a dramatic opener.
Sinner twice came from a set down to beat Miomir Kecmanovic in his first round match, where his right foot appeared to be bleeding for some time.
Despite this early scare, Sinner then beat Nuno Borges 7-6(4), 7-6(2), 6-4 to maintain his position as the favourite for the Wimbledon title.
After winning a close-fought straight sets match, Sinner provided an update on how he was feeling after reaching the third round.

Sinner struggled with the heat at Roland Garros, where he lost in the second round, but temperatures have been manageable for the world number one so far at Wimbledon.
However, with another heatwave set to arrive in London for the second week of Wimbledon, and Sinner was asked about this in his post-match press conference.
“Yes, as you said, it’s second week. There’s still a long way to go, then we see,” responded Sinner.

Sinner was then asked about how he was feeling physically, as he provided a positive update on both his foot and body as a whole.
“For sure when you have a fall like this, woke up the next day, it was not perfect,” said Sinner. “We recovered very well.
“On court today I felt good. So no issues at all. The foot was really good. So yeah, I feel all okay. Thank you.”

Sinner will now progress to the third round, where he will play against American Jenson Brooksby.
This will be just the second time that Sinner has faced Brooksby and first since the Washington Open in 2021, when the former won in straight sets.

As they play their first match in five years, Sinner has revealed what he is expecting from Brooksby.
“Yeah, long time. Long time,” said Sinner. “But I saw his match today a little bit before mine. He was playing very, very good.
“It’s going to be a very different match than today. But I’m looking forward to it. It’s going to be a very tough match. I’m looking forward to it.
“Kind of a new player, because after five years, more or less, that we haven’t played. He has improved a lot. I’m also a different player than five years ago. Then we see how it goes. But I’m happy to face him.”
Sinner and Brooksby will go head-to-head for a place in the fourth round of Wimbledon on Friday, July 3.
