Speaking to Sky Sports in Italian, Jannik Sinner began by claiming, about winning Indian Wells and Miami back to back: “It’s something where at the beginning you don’t even think about it, or at least I don’t, then the closer you get, obviously the more you think about it, but on the other hand, it’s very, very difficult to do it.”
Then, discussing the final specifically, he added: “Today the final was difficult because the conditions were totally different, very, very tough, but even today I served well in the important points.

He won 18 points in a row on serve vs Jiri Lehecka…
“The serve, above all this tournament has given a lot, so I’m very happy.
“Obviously, I have to say that I’m also happy to return to Europe, I’d been away for many weeks, so I’m very happy.”
Sinner then turned his attention to his Italian fans watching on from home.
He thanked them for their support as the match drifted deeper and deeper into the night, as the rain delays piled up: “No, thank you so much for the support, thank you. For understanding me as a person, first and foremost.
“Well, I’m happy to give something positive back. This is Italy, I’ve always said, I’m Italian. I’m so happy to bring something positive back, so thank you so much for the support and see you in Europe.”
