Jannik Sinner advanced to another ATP Tour final on Tuesday after defeating Alex de Minaur at the China Open.
Although de Minaur was able to win his first set against Sinner in five years, he was unable to close out the match, losing 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
Sinner, who lost in last year’s final to Carlos Alcaraz, will contest the final on Wednesday against young American talent Learner Tien.
Despite being aged just 24, Sinner is already forcing himself into conversations with some of the sport’s greatest players.
After the Italian’s victory over de Minaur, this sentiment remained unchanged.
Jannik Sinner has won 13 consecutive ATP semi-final matches

Jannik Sinner’s latest triumph has seen him mimic 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer.
As per OptaAce, Jannik Sinner is the first player to win 13 consecutive semi-final matches at ATP-level before turning 25, since Roger Federer in 2006.
In 2006, Federer dominated the ATP Tour, finishing with a 92-5 record while capturing three of the four available Grand Slam trophies.
The only Grand Slam match Federer lost in 2006 was to Rafael Nadal in the French Open final.
Fast forward to 2025, and Jannik Sinner will look to win his third title of the season when he faces Learner Tien in Wednesday’s China Open final.
Sinner and Tien have never played each other before on the ATP Tour.
Learner Tien chose Alcaraz over Sinner in a recent interview
During an interview with CLAY in August, Tien was asked to choose between Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.
The American replied: “The first person I kind of started watching when I really started liking to watch tennis was Alcaraz. It was kind of when he was coming up.
“I think it might have been like 2021, kind of when he was starting to break through, and he kind of pulled me into watching tennis.

“So I’d probably have to give him the edge there.”
