Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will once again go head-to-head at the ATP Finals in Turin.
The pair have dominated men’s tennis in 2025, splitting the Grand Slams evenly, as well as several high-profile Masters titles.
Sinner won the ATP Finals in 2024, while Alcaraz shares a surprisingly unfortunate record at the year-end tournament.
Ahead of the final tournament of the year, Sinner has explained his motivation to win the event for a consecutive year.

Sinner’s victory at the Paris Masters, alongside Alcaraz’s early exit, have given the Italian a chance to be the world number one heading into the 2026 season.
The Italian needs to win the tournament and hope that Alcaraz suffers another early exit in the group stage.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Sinner said his quest to become world number one before the year ends would be ‘Very, very difficult.
He added: “I’m happy to be in the position. Last year, I played incredibly well, and this season, we’ll see how it goes. I’m just happy to be here.
“It’s very special event, especially being Italian, playing in front of the home crowd. Of course, I will try to do my best as always. Try to have fun on the court, which is very important, and then we’ll see the result in one week.”
The star could face Alcaraz for the first time since the US Open and he described his rivalry with the Spaniard as ‘Extra motivation.’
“For me, as an Italian, there is already motivation playing here. We have split the Grand Slams this year, and we’ve both played some incredible tennis.
“He won eight tournaments this year, which is an incredible amount. I’m happy I played myself into a position to have a small shot. I don’t want to lose all the memories I made this year. Let’s see, we all hope it’s going to be enjoyable.”
Sinner has been drawn in a group with Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton, and Felix Auger-Aliassime. Alcaraz, meanwhile, will play Lorenzo Musetti, Taylor Fritz, and Alex de Minaur.

Alcaraz is one of the few players on the ATP Tour to hold a positive head-to-head record over Sinner, and he’s continued his dominance in 2025.
The pair have met five times in 2025, all of which were in finals, with four of them going the way of Alcaraz.
Sinner’s only victory against Alcaraz was in the Wimbledon final, when the Italian raced to a four-set victory to claim his first title at SW19.
Alcaraz has picked up wins against Sinner at Roland Garros, the Cincinnati Open, the US Open, and in Rome.
