Jannik Sinner is a two-time Wimbledon champion.

Sinner successfully defended the title he won 12 months ago after defeating Alexander Zverev 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 in Sunday’s Centre Court showpiece.

The Italian has become the 10th man to defend the Wimbledon title in the Open Era, joining the likes of Carlos Alcaraz, Roger Federer and Rod Laver.

How many Wimbledon titles will Jannik Sinner retire with?

He's a two-time champion! Roger Federer holds the men's singles record with eight…

“We prepared in the best possible way me and my team,” Sinner stated during his post-match remarks. “I have to thank them and the whole support I get from the whole box.”

Sinner has also emulated a feat last achieved by one of the most iconic figures in the history of tennis – Roger Federer.

Jannik Sinner did not drop serve during his last two matches at Wimbledon

Jannik Sinner failed to impress during the opening rounds of this year’s event.

His game looked awry and clunky – a far cry from the form he demonstrated throughout March, April and May this year.

Sinner’s struggles were particularly evident during his first-round match, where he battled past Miomir Kecmanovic in five sets.

However, the Italian continued to improve with every passing round – particularly during the semi-final and final in south-west London.

The Italian played some scintillating tennis against Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev, and he was almost invulnerable on serve.

In fact, as per OptaAce, Jannik Sinner is now the first player to claim the Wimbledon Men’s Singles title without conceding games on serve in the semi-final and final since 2003.

The last player to accomplish this feat? Roger Federer.

Federer, seeded fourth in 2003, won his first Wimbledon title after beating Andy Roddick and Mark Philippoussis in straight sets.

Federer went on to win seven more Wimbledon titles – the last being in 2017.

Jannik Sinner’s dominance against Alexander Zverev continues

Sinner has now won 10 consecutive matches against Zverev.

Zverev has failed to win a match against the Italian since the 2023 US Open.

Remarkably, Sunday’s final marked the first time Zverev won a set against Sinner in seven matches – dating back to the 2025 Vienna Open.

Needless to say, Zverev will hope to end his shocking run of results against the Italian when they next meet on the circuit.
