Jack Draper’s return to tennis has hit a minor blip, despite the British star picking up his first win in six months at the Davis Cup.
Draper impressed for Great Britain at the Davis Cup as they confirmed their place in the next round against either Ecuador or Australia.
The British number one defeated Viktor Durasovic in less than an hour in the opening rubber, but did not feature again.
While Great Britain’s Davis Cup captain Leon Smith said that was all part of the plan, Draper has now withdrawn from his next tennis tournament.
Jack Draper withdraws from the Rotterdam Open after Davis Cup win
Draper was set to play the Rotterdam Open as his first ATP tournament back from injury, but that will now not happen.
Speaking at the Davis Cup, Draper confirmed: “While I am feeling positive about how my recovery is going I have been advised not to rush straight out and potentially compete in back-to-back matches.”
“As disappointed as I am not to be back out there, overall I am trending in the right direction,” declared Draper.

Draper’s next tournament is now currently set to be the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, which begin on 23 February.
The British star is also expected to play the Miami Open and Indian Wells, the latter of which he will be the defending champion.
It remains to be seen whether he can play both American ATP 1000 tournaments, however, as the two events take place in two of the first three weeks of March.

Draper has followed Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev at the Rotterdam Open, following their lengthy runs at the Australian Open.
That’s left the Dutch tournament draw wide open, with several stars who will be keen to bag 500 ranking points.

Felix Auger-Aliassime will now be the top seed at the event, and his indoor hardcourt record indicates he will have a huge chance to lift the trophy.
Alex de Minaur will be looking for his first ATP title since last year’s Washington Open, while there are several players who could be considered a dark horse.
Alexander Bublik and Daniil Medvedev, who have both shown a resurgence in form over the last year, are also set to play in Rotterdam.
