Injury forces Soderling out

Swede Soderling, the number one seed, was suffering from a right elbow injury and was not fit enough to contest his last-four match with Marcos Baghdatis, giving the Cypriot a bye into the final.

He will meet Olivier Rochus in the showpiece after the Belgian battled hard for a 7-6 (7/4) 4-6 6-3 win over Brazil’s Thomaz Bellucci.
