Iga Swiatek has shared her delight at reaching the third round of Wimbledon, where she will take on Alex Eala.
The Pole has had a tricky route to this stage of the Grand Slam so far, having battled past American ace Taylor Townsend and former world number one Karolina Pliskova.
Swiatek is also under pressure as the Wimbledon defending champion, but she has thus far passed every test at the All England Club.
WTA rising star Eala is next up for Swiatek, who has shared insight into her current mindset ahead of that match.
Who will reach the fourth round of Wimbledon – Alex Eala or Iga Swiatek?
What a match this could be!
Iga Swiatek delighted to make tennis history at Wimbledon
Told that she’s the only woman to reach the third round at every major this decade, she was asked on Tennis Channel to detail her results versus process mindset.
“Well I am a person that tends to focus on results, so sometimes it’s not so good, you know,” replied Swiatek.
“That’s why I’m constantly trying to switch to thinking about the process, and I think it’s better, because in tennis you can’t really control everything. But for sure I’m happy with the way I have shown my consistency.
“This stat about the third rounds, it’s really nice and it shows that I also don’t take anything for granted. I’m ready from the first match, even though sometimes you can draw a lower-ranked player.
“I know that in Grand Slams that surprises happen, so I’m kind of ready and for any kind of challenge from the beginning of the tournament, and that really helps me to adjust.
“And I’m really happy with these wins that I get at the beginning, because you need to get through these matches to then have a chance to raise the trophy.”

Iga Swiatek emulates Serena Williams after latest Wimbledon win
Impressively, Swiatek has also been able to emulate legendary sisters Serena Williams and Venus Williams with her latest win in London.
As per OptaAce, she is now just the fifth currently active player to claim 20 or more wins at all four Grand Slam events.
Only the Williams sisters and fellow WTA aces Elina Svitolina and Madison Keys have been able to achieve the impressive feat.
The Pole boasts 26 wins at the Australian Open, 43 at the French Open, 24 at the US Open and now 20 at Wimbledon.
Of course, she’ll be eager to extend her tally at SW19 this year, but Swiatek faces a tough test against Eala, who always attracts huge support.
Fittingly, they enter the match with a 1-1 head-to-head record, and will now meet on grass for the first time in their exciting careers.
