Iga Swiatek smashed another WTA Tour record during her victory against Yue Yuan at the China Open.

Swiatek dropped just three games in a 6-0, 6-3 victory at the China Open against an opponent playing on home soil.

The Pole followed up an excellent victory at the Korea Open with her sixth straight win in Beijing, after winning the tournament in 2023.

Swiatek could become World No. 1 before the end of 2025, and her momentum continues to swing with another WTA Tour record smashed by the World No. 2.

Iga Swiatek takes WTA Tour record for the most bagels inflicted

Swiatek began her China Open campaign in trademark style, by rushing to a 6-0 lead in the opening set against Yuan.

The bagel was Swiatek’s 34th on the WTA Tour per OptaAce, which makes her the outright leader since 2009.

The Pole took two-time Australian Open champion and former World No. 1 Victoria Azarenka’s record of 33 bagels.

Swiatek is leading great company, with the likes of Caroline Wozniacki, Simona Halep, and Agnieszka Radwanska making up the list.

The Pole could continue her dominance in the field when she plays Camila Osorio in the China Open’s round of 32.

Iga Swiatek immediately reacts to latest China Open win

Swiatek spoke straight after her latest win against Yuan and revealed the scoreline did not tell the full picture of the match.

“I think she was reading the court really well and for sure it wasn’t easy, every game was tight, but I’m happy I could close it,” said the World No. 2 on the Diamond Court in Beijing.

The star then turned her attention toward the tournament she’s played just once before, when she won in Beijing in 2023.

“[I’m] happy to be back here and playing on this court because it’s really beautiful,” she explained. Happy also, I can play in front of you guys, so thanks for coming.”

“It was a great tournament two years ago and, for sure, I have great memories, so I was excited to come here, but obviously every tournament is a different story, so you have to start from the beginning and grind.

“It’s already been a great couple of weeks in Asia, and I’m happy to be in another city. I’ll be back the day after tomorrow.”

Swiatek is the number one seed at the China Open due to World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka’s omission from the tournament.
