Iga Swiatek has led her Poland team to the next round of the 2026 Billie Jean King Cup.

The Polish world number two, who won her first Wimbledon title this year, is understandably the most important player on the Polish team.

Swiatek has refused to let this pressure weigh heavily on her shoulders, leading her team to 3-0 victories against New Zealand and Romania this week.

Against New Zealand, Swiatek secured the tie by beating Elyse Tse 6-0, 6-1, before Linda Klimovicova and Martyna Kubka secured a 3-0 victory.

Against Romania, Swiatek again dominated her matchup, defeating Gabriela Lee 6-2, 6-0 in Gorzow Wielkopolski, Poland.

The Pole has enjoyed a superb season, capping it off by joining an elite group of players on an exclusive list.

Iga Swiatek leads the WTA Tour for the fourth consecutive season

Iga Swiatek has won 63 singles matches in 2025, and is now the fourth female in the Open Era to lead the Tour in terms of match wins for four or more consecutive seasons – as per OptaAce.

Chris Evert, an 18-time Grand Slam champion, did so from 1974 to 1977, while Martina Navratilova led the Tour for a remarkable 10 consecutive years between 1977 and 1986

Steffi Graf, a winner of six French Open titles, led the Tour in terms of match wins for four or more consecutive seasons between 1987 and 1990.

With her successes in Poland, Swiatek has tied Aryna Sabalenka, who has also won 63 WTA Tour-level matches this season.

Sabalenka won her final WTA match of the year by defeating Amanda Anisimova in the semi-finals of the WTA Finals.

Sabalenka missed the opportunity the lead the Tour outright after losing to Elena Rybakina in the Riyadh final.
