After the match, Swiatek spoke to TNT Sports, commenting on the conditions in Paris and her pre-tournament training sessions.
Iga Swiatek admits her training sessions were ugly before she adjusted to the conditions at Roland Garros
“I feel like [the heat] helps the players that play with top-spin, so you need to use that,” she said.
“But on the other hand have control of the ball because from the racket, sometimes it flies a bit more crazily and a bit longer.

“I feel like the first two practices, when it was 16 degrees the previous week, were tricky.
“They were really ugly!
“But when I got the rhythm, and the feeling of the court, it got better.
“The next step is using these conditions to your favour and I feel like I have the game to do that. So I am trying it.
“But it’s quite fun how the ball can react differently. I don’t think fans are sometimes aware, so it’s good for them to see a totally different game.”
Swiatek was then asked about her decision to replace Wim Fissette with Francisco Roig ahead of the clay-court season.
“I would say that I needed a change,” she said.
“For sure, the tournaments in the US were not positive, but Francisco [Roig] is more about technique and the feeling on the court, which I love, and is what I need to feel confident.

“We did not have a lot of time before clay court season to practice; it was basically just a week in Mallorca, but probably the most intense practice week I have had in my life.
“I have a lot of motivation and a lot of positive feelings about it.
“Also, after these weeks, I know he wants the same things as I do from my game, so it’s all heading forward, and I feel like in Rome, I could use all the stuff he taught me, and hopefully, here I will also have an opportunity to do that.”

Has Iga Swiatek actually improved since replacing Wim Fissette with Francisco Roig?
Swiatek enjoyed success with Fissette in 2025, winning Wimbledon, the Cincinnati Open, and the Korea Open, but failed to carry that momentum through to the new year.
It was the right time to part ways when they did, but has she actually improved since replacing him with Roig?
