Carlos Alcaraz has made the final of the Monte-Carlo Masters for the second consecutive year, after defeating Valentin Vacherot.
Alcaraz set up a blockbuster final with Jannik Sinner, in their first competitive match of the 2026 season so far.
The pair will play with added stakes as a victory for Sinner will see him become the ATP Tour world number one yet again.
After reaching the finals of the Monte-Carlo Masters, Alcaraz has now surpassed Andy Murray’s all-time prize money haul.

Carlos Alcaraz’s overall prize money haul
Alcaraz is privileged to play in a time where more and more prize money has been dished out to the players.
However, it is still impressive that the Spaniard has managed to usurp Murray’s total already at just 22-years-old.
| Rank | Player | Prize money total |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Novak Djokovic | $193,215,570 |
| 2 | Rafael Nadal | $134,946,100 |
| 3 | Roger Federer | $130,594,339 |
| 4 | Carlos Alcaraz | $64,959,077 |
| 5 | Andy Murray | $64,687,542 |
With his Monte-Carlo Masters victory over Vacherot, Alcaraz has now earned $64,959,077 in prize money from the sport.
That total sees him top Murray’s career prize money of $64,687,542 and puts him in fourth place on the overall list.
Will Jannik Sinner overtake Carlos Alcaraz and become world number one? 🤔
If so, when will he do it?
Only Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic stand above Alcaraz now in terms of prize money received.
The Spaniard still has a long way to go to catch up the ‘Big Three’, with each man having won over double Alcaraz’s current prize money.
How much will Carlos Alcaraz receive if he wins Monte-Carlo?
Alcaraz has already secured €532,120 for reaching the final of the Monte-Carlo Masters, but there is a huge incentive to lift the trophy.
The winner between Sinner and Alcaraz will receive nearly double the amount of the loser, with the title victor claiming €974,370.

The winner’s prize money is slightly up on last year’s event, which saw Alcaraz pocket €946,610 for beating Lorenzo Musetti.
The Spaniard has a chance to become the first back-to-back winner of the Monte-Carlo Masters since Stefanos Tsitsipas in 2022.
Alcaraz would join the likes of Nadal, Juan Carlos Ferrero, and Thomas Muster as names who have also won the title back-to-back.
