Dan Evans advanced to the second round of Wimbledon qualifying with a straight sets win over Bolivian youngster Juan Carlos Prado Ángelo.
The 2015 Davis Cup champion, who is set to retire from his playing career after the event, rallied from a break down in the first set before securing a 7-6, 6-3 victory in London.
Evans was not awarded a wildcard for Wimbledon this year – and the Briton offered his thoughts on the matter after emerging victorious on Monday afternoon.

Evans was far from the only British player to emerge victorious in the first round of Wimbledon qualifying.
A total of 10 British players competed in the first round of men’s singles qualifying – five of whom advanced to the second round.

Billy Harris, a former quarter-finalist at the Nottingham Open, recorded the most comprehensive victory of any player on day one of Wimbledon qualifying.
The Briton, ranked 140th on the ATP Tour, defeated Italian player Stefano Napolitano 6-2, 6-2.
Henry Searle, who is being coached by Dan Evans, also advanced. The 20-year-old defeated Zhizhen Zhang 6-3, 6-4.
Oliver Tarvet – who played Carlos Alcaraz in the second round of last year’s event – also advanced to the second round of qualifying after beating Australian Alex Bolt 7-6, 7-5.

Max Basing, the world number 331, also moved through to the second stage of qualifying after recording an impressive victory over 10th seed Francesco Maestrelli.
Basing, 23, rallied from a set down to defeat Maestrelli 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.
Paul Jubb, the world number 334, defeated Pierre Hugues-Herbert to add his name to the British contingent present in the second round of qualifying.

The five British players who did not advance
Liam Broady, the former world number 93, saw his Wimbledon campaign fall at the first hurdle on Monday.
Broady, 32, was beaten 7-6, 4-6, 7-5 by 24th seed August Holmgren.
Oliver Crawford and Oliver Bonding also failed to advance, losing to Jurij Rodionov and Federico Coria, respectively.
Jay Clarke, a five-time participant in the Wimbledon main draw, also exited in the first round.

Clarke was beaten by 17th seed Andrea Pellegrino, 2-6, 7-6, 6-4.
Anton Matusevich, 25, was also beaten on Monday afternoon. The Briton lost 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 to Japanese youngster Rei Sakamoto
