Holger Rune and Casper Ruud have helped achieve an ATP feat that hasn’t been seen since grass court season.

Rune’s appearance at the Stockholm Open sees him return to the tournament he won back in 2022 as he looks to break into the top eight for the ATP Finals.

Ruud is looking to do the same at the Stockholm Open and both men have reached the final four of the competition.

The two men, along with Ugo Humbert and Denis Shapovalov, have helped achieve something that has only been done once in 2025.

Four top seeds make the semi-final of the Stockholm Open for the first time since June

Rune and Ruud came through difficult matches with Tomás Martín Etcheverry and Sebastian Korda respectively to secure their place in the final four.

They will be joined by Humbert and Shapovalov, who reached the semi-final by beating Lorenzo Sonego and Elias Ymer.

These results mean that all four top seeds are in the semi-final for only the second time this year, with the last coming in June.

The last occurrence came at the 2025 Stuttgart Open, which saw Taylor Fritz, Alexander Zverev, Ben Shelton, and Felix Auger-Aliassime reach the final.

The Stuttgart Open was won by Fritz, who defeated Zverev in straight sets to win the grass court tournament.

Casper Ruud has a remarkable record heading into the Stockholm Open semi-final

Ruud heads into his Stockholm Open semi-final with the major boost of knowing that he has a 90% record on indoor hard courts in 2025.

The Norwegian has won nine matches indoors this season, with just one loss to his name across the ATP Tour.

Unfortunately for Ruud, his only loss came against his next opponent at the Stockholm Open. Shapovalov defeated Ruud in the Dallas final earlier this year.

There will be added momentum for Ruud to gain revenge on the Canadian for inflicting his only indoor loss this season.
