Andre Agassi, an eight-time Grand Slam champion, was the first to do so, winning three titles in a row between 2001 and 2003.
Serena Williams was the next to do so, winning three straight titles between 2002 and 2004.
Novak Djokovic later added his name to the list, winning titles in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Andre Agassi won 20 consecutive Miami Open matches
Between 2001 and 2004, eight-time Grand Slam champion Andre Agassi secured an incredible 20 consecutive match wins at the Miami Open.
The record, which is unbeaten to this day, saw him compile three consecutive Miami Open titles between 2001 and 2003.

Agassi’s run began with victory over compatriot Taylor Dent in the 2001 Miami Open second round.
During the 20-match run, Agassi defeated multiple former world number one players, including Roger Federer, Marcelo Rios and Patrick Rafter.
He also beat British star Greg Rusedski, and Grand Slam champions Michael Chang and Carlos Moya.
Agassi’s run was ended by Argentine Agustin Calleri, who defeated the American 6-2, 7-6 in the 2004 Miami Open fourth round.
Andy Roddick went on to win the title that year, continuing the American dominance at the event.

A year later, Agassi made his final appearance at the event.
The American tennis legend, seeded ninth at the tournament, defeated Paul-Henri Mathieu and Gaston Gaudio on his way to the semi-finals before losing to Roger Federer.

Andre Agassi made his Miami Open debut at the 1987 event, where he lost in the first round to future French Open champion Thomas Muster.
Despite a spirited fightback, Agassi lost the match 6-7, 5-7, 7-5, 6-0, 4-6.
The following year, Agassi secured his first victories at the event.
