Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard announced Greg Rusedski as his coach after losing Francisco Roig to Iga Swiatek.

The Frenchman worked briefly with Roig at the Sunshine Double, but the partnership ended after Swiatek opted for the Spaniard to replace Wim Fissette.

Mpetshi Perricard was far from happy with Roig, but he took no time at all to announce Rusedski as his new coach.

On social media, Rusedski reacted to the news while sharing a picture with the Frenchman at the Monte-Carlo Masters.

Greg Rusedski and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard’s first test is tricky

It feels a long time ago since Mpetshi Perricard cracked the top 30 of the ATP Tour rankings for the first time back in 2025.

A string of poor form and performances have followed and the Frenchman currently sits outside the top 50.

While Mpetshi Perricard’s strong serve is undeniable his ground game and return of serve leave much to be desired.

Rusedski will have his work cut out to improve the player, particularly with a difficult tournament first up in Monte-Carlo.

Mpetshi Perricard will begin his campaign against a qualifier or lucky loser with a potential second round match with Alexander Zverev on the horizon.

The Frenchman has also been drawn in the same section of the draw as Daniil Medvedev, Joao Fonseca, and Andrey Rublev.
