Former British number one, Greg Rusedski, has now delivered his verdict on Raducanu’s French Open exit.
Greg Rusedski questions what is happening to Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper
During the latest episode of ‘Off Court Cuts‘, Rusedski commented on Raducanu’s emotional press conference.
“She was a little bit emotional. It is pretty normal because you want to win and do your best, and your health is your wealth,” he said.

“The nice news is that she has talked about being with Andrew Richardson. It is nice to see them back together.
“I hope she is healthy and can continue. Now she gets ready for the grass court season, so fingers crossed.
“Sometimes when you have those emotional feelings in a press conference or after, it shows how much you care or how much you want to get back.
“So even though it’s not always easy to watch, from a coach’s or a player’s perspective, it shows that it means a lot to you still, you want to get back out there and try to do your best.”
Rusedski believes Raducanu has the potential to impress on grass, but shared his concerns about her fitness.
“We wish her well and hope to see some form coming back on the grass courts,” he said.
“She enjoys it. Last year, she lost to [Aryna] Sabalenka in two tight sets.

“She can play her front foot tennis; the ball doesn’t get too high up on the grass as well, so it goes into her strike zone really nicely.
“But it’s also about confidence, and she has not won many matches this year.

“That is the thing, you have to keep on building.
“It has been so stop-start.
“I don’t know what is happening!
“We are having the same discussion about [Jack] Draper and [Emma] Raducanu, and we are hoping we don’t have to talk about this anymore and are just playing every week.”
Raducanu has lost six of her last seven matches, and hasn’t won a match since the beginning of March.
The 2021 US Open champion picked up an illness during the Middle Eastern swing, and only made her return the week before Roland Garros.
Finishing the clay-court season with two defeats, Raducanu will be desperate to bounce back on the grass.
